Job Description
- Lead the design, implementation, and review of the curriculum within the subject area.
- Ensure schemes of work are up-to-date, inclusive, and aligned with national standards.
- Promote innovative and engaging teaching strategies across the department.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching quality across the department.
- Support staff with lesson planning, differentiation, and use of assessment for learning.
- Provide support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to subject teachers.
- Conduct lesson observations, learning walks, and performance appraisals.
- Encourage collaboration, sharing of resources, and a strong team ethos.
- Track and analyze student performance data to identify strengths and areas for development.
- Implement intervention strategies to raise achievement and close attainment gaps.

Manage departmental resources, including teaching materials and textbooks.

Communicate regularly with SLT, parents, and external bodies where appropriate.
Skills
- Degree in Fine Arts.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Proven teaching experience with a record of raising achievement.
- Ability to analyze data and drive improvement.
- Excellent communication skills
- Relationship-building with students, parents, and colleagues.
