Job Description

  1. Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for science practical lessons.
  2. Set up and dismantle laboratory experiments before and after classes.
  3. Ensure laboratories are clean, organized, and safe for staff and students.
  4. Maintain, calibrate, and perform basic repairs on laboratory equipment.
  5. Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and storing supplies.
  6. Label, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials according to safety regulations.
  7. Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure compliance with school health and safety policies.
  8. Prepare chemical solutions and specimens as required for practical activities.
  9. Support science teachers during laboratory sessions and provide technical assistance when needed.
  10. Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance, chemical usage, and inventory.
  11. Assist in developing and updating laboratory procedures and safety documentation.
  12. Ensure emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and first aid kits are regularly inspected and accessible.
  13. Support all school activities and examination activities as required.
  14. Conduct lab practical examination as per school protocols.

Skills Description

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physics.
  • Previous experience in a school, college, university, or research laboratory is preferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and chemical handling procedures.
  • Excellent record keeping skills and computer skills.
