Job Description
- Design, implement, and oversee the music curriculum for primary and secondary sections in alignment with the school’s educational framework.
- Teach music classes across various levels as required (instrumental, vocal, theory, and appreciation).
- Monitor and assess student progress, and ensure high standards of teaching and learning within the department.
- Introduce students to a range of musical styles, cultures, and historical periods.
- Foster creativity, confidence, and musical expression in both individual and group settings.
- Lead, mentor, and support the music teaching staff and accompanists.
- Coordinate the scheduling and planning of lessons, rehearsals, and performances.
- Maintain and manage musical instruments, sound equipment, and other departmental resources.
- Set departmental goals and contribute to school-wide academic and co-curricular planning.
- Organize school concerts, musical productions, assemblies, and special events.
- Work collaboratively with other department heads to integrate music with other subjects or school initiatives.
- Build partnerships with external music organizations and professionals when appropriate.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music.

Formal training in music performance, theory, and/or conducting.

Teaching qualification is mandatory.

Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching music at the school level, with leadership experience highly desirable.

Proficient in at least one instrument or vocal performance; ability to teach multiple disciplines is an advantage.

Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Experience in planning and directing musical performances or ensembles.
