Job Description
- Teach music to the assigned year group
- Monitor and evaluate standards of own teaching and learning, identifying areas for improvement.
- Plan and implement strategies to improve teaching where needs are identified.
- Ensure there is appropriate continuity and progression in planning, teaching and learning.
- Lead, arrange and coordinate Music events the school.
- To develop the confidence and enthusiasm of children, staff and parents.
- Monitor student standards, progress and achievement against targets.
- Attend relevant courses and meetings and disseminate information gained to the staff.
- Liaise with other Music professionals.
- Ensure the effective use of ICT to support Music.
- Provide appropriate support is given to all students including SEN and EAL.
- Arrange and promote curriculum events and activities.
- Actively participate in the coordination of all school events including training students.
Skills
Qualification:
- Degree in music
- B.Ed
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Up to date knowledge of Music National Curriculum
- To show an understanding of and passionate about a creative and integrated curriculum and how this benefits children’s learning.
- To demonstrate understanding of Inclusion and how children with different needs including those with limited English are supported within music sessions.
- Excellent ICT skills.
- To play proficiently at least one musical instrument.
