Overview of the role

This role primarily supports the implementation of the escalation process and assists in employee relations (ER) matters. Key responsibilities include helping to manage the ER speak-up channels where employees can raise concerns, support the tracking and coordination of ER cases, and ensure proper documentation is maintained. The role involves compiling basic metrics and reports, and ensuring that case handling aligns with company procedures, local labor laws, and Al-Futtaim values.

The role will also assist in the preparation and rollout of ER policies and materials, help maintain the ER Policy Framework, and support awareness initiatives related to Compliance, Business Ethics, and other relevant documentation. This position will work under guidance from more senior ER or HR team members to ensure consistency and compliance in all activities

What you will do

  • Support in ensuring the adherence of the Speak Up process highlighting areas of improvement
  • Support during Employee Relations investigations, attending interviews, preparing reports, tracking actions
  • Support in the development of the ER training program and material
  • Act as a translator in employee investigation meetings and during appeal hearings
  • Analyze and report on the disciplinary process.
  • Preparation communication and training around the Speak Up channel building awareness of the channel, including via campaigns
  • Support in the development of the Code of Conduct and Ethics training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers
  • Overall, support in ER training and awareness initiatives
  • Support in building Employee Relations governance and oversight
  • Preparation of dashboards, providing timely insights to management
  • Ensure the implementation of automated tools
  • Tracking cases from case receipt to case closure
  • To support in maintaining the policy inventory and support in the oversight of the Policy Framework and policy project plans.
  • Support with the policy review process, consolidation, monitoring and delivery
  • Review of HR policies to ensure the correct policy templates are being followed
  • Monitoring completion of policy training delivered and owned by Employee Relations
  • Ensure ER policies & processes are current, conform and comply with the relevant labor laws.
  • Support in the communication and implementation of the end-to-end process of group-wide Employee Relations processes.
  • Support in the development of the HR Compliance Risk Framework
  • Support in the development of a Compliance Review plan
  • Support in the execution of HR Compliance Reviews and Risk Assessments, including report writing and tracking actions to closure
  • Support in building Compliance, governance and oversight and providing timely insights to management.

What equips you for the role

  • Preferably a diploma or degree within HR/ Employment Law.
  • Relevant working experience in HR and/or ER in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of UAE Employment law and employee relations.
  • Good understanding of the various functional areas and risk within HR and their importance.
  • Fluent in the Arabic language, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent knowledge in the use of the Microsoft suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
