Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Swimming Pool Attendanct (Level 2 trained) to join our team in August 2025.
The successful applicant will:
- Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
- Keep a close watch and an appropriate level of control over surrounds including users and spectators.
- Communicate effectively with PE teachers
- Anticipate problems and prevent accidents though daily use of risk assessments and on going assessments;
- Intervene to prevent behavior which is unsafe;
- Identify emergencies quickly and take appropriate action;
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
- Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
Skills
- Candidates MUST have a minimum of Level 2 Swim England Qualification (SEQ) or equivalent
- Be physically fit, have good vision and hearing, be mentally alert and self-disciplined;
- Be strong, able and confident swimmers;
- Be trained and have successfully completed a course of training in the techniques and practices of supervision, rescue and first aid in accordance with a syllabus approved by a recognised training organisation
