Job Description

GEMS First Point School is looking for a Swim Coach for Academic year 2025-2026, immediate hire

The Swim Coach will assist the Head of Aquatics a leadership role with overseeing all aspects of aquatic programs, facilities, and staff within GEMS FirstPoint School. This role requires a strong background in aquatics, including experience in swimming instruction, lifeguarding, pool maintenance, and program development. The Swim coach is tasked with ensuring the safety of all aquatic activities while also fostering a positive and inclusive environment for participants of all ages and skill levels.

Skills

  • Program Development & Delivery

    • Assist in designing and delivering a broad range of aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, water fitness classes, recreational swim sessions, and competitive swim training.

    • Support continuous evaluation and enhancement of existing programs to better serve all age groups and skill levels.

    • Collaborate with the Head of Aquatics and other departments to align aquatic activities with wider school or community initiatives.

    Team Support & Staff Coordination

    • Support the recruitment, training, and scheduling of lifeguards, swim instructors, and junior coaches.

    • Provide guidance and feedback to aquatic staff, helping to maintain high coaching standards and strong team morale.

    • Encourage a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused team culture that promotes communication and collaboration.

    Facility Oversight & Safety

    • Assist in the daily supervision of aquatic facilities to ensure cleanliness, water quality, and operational readiness.

    • Support the implementation and enforcement of all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk mitigation practices.

    • Liaise with facility maintenance teams to identify and resolve operational issues in a timely and efficient manner.


    Requirements:

    • Relevant certifications in swim coaching, lifeguarding, and CPR/First Aid (as applicable)

    • Prior experience in swim coaching and/or aquatic program delivery

    • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills

    • Commitment to safety, athlete development, and program excellence

Bachelors/ Diploma in Science- Sports, With Basic life support training
