DESCRIPTION
Amazon Payment Services (APS) seeks a highly skilled and motivated Finance Analyst to support the Amazon Payment Experience and Cost of Payment initiatives across the MENA (Middle East and North Africa), ZA (South Africa), and TR (Turkey) regions. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to take on a critical role in supporting Amazon’s payments strategy in these key regions.
Key job responsibilities
– Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage financial models to support short- and long-term financial planning for the Amazon Payment Experience and Cost of Payment initiatives in the MENA, ZA, and TR regions. Prepare variance analysis, financial metrics, and reporting to provide insights into business performance.
– Business Partnering: Partner with key business stakeholders, including the APS commercial team, to align financial and operational analyses, challenge assumptions, and drive data-driven decision-making. Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial and business goals.
– Controllership & Compliance: Enhance finance controllership through the development and maintenance of models, reports, and processes. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, including financial and tax-related regulations. Dive deep to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
– Strategic Analysis & Recommendations: Conduct financial and strategic analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and revenue growth. Provide recommendations to enhance payment experience, reduce cost of payment, and improve overall financial performance.
– Project Management: Lead individual projects from start to finish, including managing timelines, auditing quality/progress to plan, setting priorities, and resolving conflicts with minimal oversight. Demonstrate strong ownership and ensure that projects align with broader business and finance goals.
– Automation & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes. Drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
– Month-End Close & Reporting: Manage month-end close processes, including the preparation of commentary and analysis on key drivers of financial performance. Provide risk and opportunity guidance and present findings to senior management.
– Ad-Hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business needs and provide insights to senior management. Develop and deliver actionable insights based on data analysis.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
– 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
– 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
– 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
– 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
– Six Sigma Black Belt
– Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
– Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
– MBA, or CPA
– Knowledge of Tableau
– Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
