Overview Of The Role:
- The Senior Tax Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the Al-Futtaim Group’s Tax Back-Office with operational matters, including the preparation of Direct and Indirect Tax Returns. This position requires close collaboration with Group Tax to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in tax-related activities. The role also involves maintaining updated tax calendars, supporting audits, and enhancing tax processes through automation and process improvements.
What You Will Do:
Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Prepare monthly VAT and WHT returns for different regions and process for submission to governing bodies, ensuring liability settlement.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and update the monthly calendar and tracker to ensure correct and timely filing of all tax returns based on country-specific tax calendars.
- Review complex income tax returns and coordinate with tax authorities as needed.
Tax Accounting and Document Management
- Support the Tax Back-Office with tax provision tracking and manage tax balances on general ledger.
- Ensure all tax documents are collected in a central database and manage information requests effectively.
- Support tax audits by providing coordination support to the Tax Manager.
Process Improvement and Automation
- Provide active support in resolving VAT system issues, coordinating with IT and Assistant Financial Controller.
- Support streamlining processes through automation efforts, contributing to efficiency improvements.
- Contribute to business excellence initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance solutions and processes.

What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Tax and Finance Degree; regional tax knowledge is a plus.
- 3 – 5 years of GCC tax experience and 1-2 years in an international finance environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in accounting, project management, and familiarity with SAP; strong organizational, time management, and Microsoft Excel skills.
