Job Description
Admin Technician – Organise, prepare and manage all science experiments and practicals under the guidance of the Head of the Science Department.
Job Responsibilities
- Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
- Maintain and update register of Lab equipment.
- Maintain and update register of chemicals and other consumables.
- Prepare Lab experiments and practicals in coordination with the Head of Science and Science teachers.
- Responsible for keeping the labs organised and clean in coordination with the Head of Science and teachers.
- Report breakage/damage of equipment to Head of Science.
- Responsible for safety procedures in the Labs in coordination with other members of the department.
- Prepare annual list of consumables, glassware and equipment in conjunction with Head of Science.
- Ensure Labs are locked when not in use.
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
- Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.

Expected Qualifications:
§ Bachelors of Science or Equivalent
Expected Experience:
§ Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Lab Technician
