Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding SENDCo Primary Teacher to join our team at GEMS Wellington Academy, Al Khail from September 2025.

Job Purpose:
To provide strategic leadership and operational management of the school’s SEND provision, ensuring the effective implementation of policies and high-quality teaching for students of determination. The SENDCo will foster an inclusive culture, working collaboratively with staff and families to help all students thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, assessment, and support of students of determination.
  • Implement and review the Inclusion Improvement Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and SEND policies.
  • Support staff with inclusive teaching strategies and intervention programmes.
  • Liaise with external agencies and provide guidance on transitions and post-school pathways.
  • Line manage Inclusion staff and ensure effective deployment of resources.

Skills

 

Requirements:

  • B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent in Primary teaching or similar.
  • Experience teaching the British curriculum with a focus on SEND.
  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching and student progress.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the National Curriculum of England.
