Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum Delivery

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver art lessons in accordance with CBSE guidelines.
  • Teach various art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, and craft.
  • Develop students’ creativity, imagination, and technical skills.
  • Integrate art history and cultural awareness into lessons.

Student Development

  • Encourage individual expression and confidence in students.
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress through assignments and projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support improvement.
  • Prepare students for exhibitions, competitions, and school events.

Classroom Management

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating art classroom environment.
  • Ensure proper use and care of art materials and equipment.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively in line with school policies.

Co-curricular Activities

  • Organize art exhibitions, displays, and creative events.
  • Participate in school functions, celebrations, and extracurricular programs.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain records of student performance and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.

Skills

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts / Visual Arts or related field.
  • B.Ed. or teaching qualification (preferred/mandatory depending on school policy).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE school.
  • Knowledge of CBSE curriculum and assessment standards.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in various art techniques and mediums.
