Music Teacher

1. Teach music to the assigned year group
2. Monitor and evaluate standards of own teaching and learning, identifying areas for improvement.
3. Plan and implement strategies to improve teaching where needs are identified.
4. Ensure there is appropriate continuity and progression in planning, teaching and learning.
5. Lead, arrange and coordinate Music events the school.
6. To develop the confidence and enthusiasm of children, staff and parents.
7. Monitor student standards, progress and achievement against targets.
8. Attend relevant courses and meetings and disseminate information gained to the staff.
9. Liaise with other Music professionals.
10. Ensure the effective use of ICT to support Music.
11. Provide appropriate support is given to all students including SEN and EAL.
12. Arrange and promote curriculum events and activities.
13. Actively participate in the coordination of all school events including training students.

Qualification:

1. Degree in music
2. B.Ed

Skills:

1. Excellent interpersonal skills
2. Up to date knowledge of Music National Curriculum
3. To show an understanding of and passionate about a creative and integrated curriculum and how this benefits children’s learning.
4. To demonstrate understanding of Inclusion and how children with different needs including those with limited English are supported within music sessions.
5. Excellent ICT skills.
6. To play proficiently at least one musical instrument.
