Job Description

The Islamic Coordinator is responsible for leading, planning, and overseeing the Islamic Studies curriculum and activities, ensuring alignment with the Ministry of Education standards and the school’s vision and values. The role also promotes Islamic values throughout the school community, supports teachers, and serves as a spiritual and moral guide for students and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Instruction:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and review of the Islamic Education curriculum (MOE-based or school-developed).

  • Ensure that lesson plans, assessments, and resources meet Islamic and academic standards.

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction in Islamic Studies.

  • Monitor students’ progress and develop strategies for improvement.

Leadership & Coordination:

  • Serve as a liaison between the Islamic Department and school leadership.

  • Coordinate Islamic assemblies, Quran competitions, and special events (e.g. Ramadan, Hajj programs).

  • Promote Islamic values and integrate them across school life and culture.

  • Ensure compliance with MOE policies and inspection requirements.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage parents and the school community in Islamic events and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with pastoral care teams to support students’ personal development.

     

Skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Shariah, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum 2-5 years of teaching Islamic Studies; experience in a leadership/coordinator role is preferred.

  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).

  • Familiar with the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum and Islamic values in an educational context.
