Job Description

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the KS2 curriculum and school standards.
  2. Teach core subjects (English, Math, Science, and other assigned subjects) with a focus on differentiated instruction.
  3. Use diverse teaching methods and resources—including technology—to enhance learning.
  4. Incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning approaches.
  5. Create a supportive learning environment that fosters independence, confidence, and curiosity.
  6. Develop and implement age-appropriate schemes of work and lesson plans.
  7. Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
  8. Maintain detailed records of student achievement and prepare progress reports.
  9. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
  10. Establish clear classroom routines and high expectations for behavior and work habits.
  11. Manage the classroom effectively to ensure safety, engagement, and respect.
  12. Uphold school policies related to discipline, safeguarding, and inclusion.
  13. Foster positive relationships and support students’ social–emotional well-being.
  14. Take part in extracurricular activities, school events, assemblies, and field trips.
  15. Ensure safety and well-being of students at all times.
  16. Ensure GEMS policies, procedures and code of conduct are followed at all times.

Skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelors in English or a related scientific field.
  2. Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or equivalent).
  3. Experience teaching Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) or upper primary level.
  4. Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and child development.

  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  2. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  3. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  4. Commitment to student achievement and well-being.
  5. Analytical and reflective approach to teaching.
  6. Competence in using digital tools for teaching and assessment.
