Job Description
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the KS2 curriculum and school standards.
- Teach core subjects (English, Math, Science, and other assigned subjects) with a focus on differentiated instruction.
- Use diverse teaching methods and resources—including technology—to enhance learning.
- Incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Create a supportive learning environment that fosters independence, confidence, and curiosity.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
- Maintain detailed records of student achievement and prepare progress reports.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Establish clear classroom routines and high expectations for behavior and work habits.
- Manage the classroom effectively to ensure safety, engagement, and respect.
- Uphold school policies related to discipline, safeguarding, and inclusion.
- Foster positive relationships and support students’ social–emotional well-being.
- Take part in extracurricular activities, school events, assemblies, and field trips.
- Ensure safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Ensure GEMS policies, procedures and code of conduct are followed at all times.
Skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors in English or a related scientific field.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) or upper primary level.
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and child development.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Commitment to student achievement and well-being.
- Analytical and reflective approach to teaching.
- Competence in using digital tools for teaching and assessment.
