Head of Science – August 2026

We are recruiting for an outstanding Head of Science to join the GEMS Education network in Abu Dhabi from August 2026.

We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional Science education and driving academic excellence across the department. The successful candidate will bring strong subject expertise – ideally with a specialism in Physics – and a proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team of dedicated teachers.

Successful applicants will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Science, ideally specialising in Physics, or a closely related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE) or teaching licence.
• Proven leadership experience within a Science department or clear potential to step into a Head of Department role.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to lead on curriculum planning, assessment, and staff development.
• A consistent track record of outstanding teaching and learning, with evidence of excellent student progress and achievement.
• Experience teaching within the British curriculum and/or the IB framework is highly desirable.
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and guide colleagues in delivering excellence across the Science faculty.
