Job Description

GEMS Winchester Private School Fujairah invites applications for the position of Head of Inclusion commencing August 2026. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to lead the school’s Inclusion Department and ensure the effective implementation of inclusive practices across all phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Inclusion Department in alignment with GEMS Education standards and the British curriculum.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEND, EAL, and Gifted & Talented needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted intervention programmes.
  • Support teachers in applying inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation within the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Education requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, external specialists, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion that supports student wellbeing, progress, and achievement.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education Needs, or a Bachelor Degree in Education and a postgraduate qualification in Special Education or Inclusion.
  • Significant experience in an Inclusion/SEND leadership role within a British curriculum school.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND frameworks, assessment tools, and intervention methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage caseloads, and collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
