Job Description
GEMS World Academy is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Government Relations Officer to support and manage the school’s interactions with government entities and ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in UAE government procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with external authorities.
Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with various government departments and agencies such as ADEK, MOHRE, ADGM, Immigration, and other relevant authorities.

Ensure timely processing of employee Pass, ESIS and other official documentation.

Support the registration and licensing requirements of the school in accordance with relevant government bodies.

Monitor changes in local laws and regulations and ensure the school’s compliance with all applicable legal requirements.

Represent the school in official communications and maintain strong relationships with government contacts.

Maintain accurate documentation and digital records for all government-related processes for staff and students.

Maintain and update records regulating & maintaining trackers to show progress.

Prepare letters for Government authorities as and when required.

Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.

In association with ICT support, compile and generate Ministry required student records (manual or
online records).

Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

Perform other duties as requested by direct and dotted reporting line managers/ supervisors.
Skills
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the education sector or a large organization in the UAE.

In-depth knowledge of UAE government systems and regulations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.

High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
