Job Description
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons that meet GCSE and IGCSE Level curriculum requirements.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, practical investigations, and technology to enhance learning.
- Develop and implement assessments (formative and summative) that monitor progress and prepare students for exams.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including high achievers and those needing additional support.
- Ensure lessons align with the curriculum specifications and examination board standards.
- Participate in internal standardization and moderation processes.
- Update and maintain accurate student records, grades, and reports.
- Implement school policies on discipline, attendance, and safeguarding.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and school improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in Mathematics, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Mathematics Department to plan schemes of work and share best practices.
- Contribute to extracurricular Math activities, clubs, competitions, or field trips.
- Promote the general progress and well-being of students and provide guidance to students on educational matters.
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
Skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors and Masters degree in Mathematics or a related scientific field.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching senior secondary IGCSE curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of the subject and practical laboratory skills.
