Due to the continued success of our GEMS Metropole School Al Waha (MTW), we are looking to a Forest School Teacher for September 2025.

The role

To further develop a transformational Forest School provision that is safe, happy, creative and inspirational and has at its heart the highest possible expectations of each and every child.

To plan and deliver outstanding Forest School sessions (which develop resilience, perseverance, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills).

To ensure that the forest school activities promote child led learning and contribute to the holistic development of all children.

To ensure that all sessions are well prepared.

To prepare and keep up to date the relevant Risk Assessments.

To make all relevant staff aware of the Risk Assessments and actions required.

To advise and support the school in maintaining the Forest School area in a suitable state, including any planting and storage.

To maintain the materials, tools and equipment in a suitable state. To advise the school on the necessary purchasing of any equipment, and to fill in the relevant order forms.

To participate in annual performance appraisal and to agree with your Line Manager targets for the following year.

To attend and participate in year group Collaborative planning meetings to support the use of Forest Schools within the curriculum.

Requirements

  • 3 years qualified relevant experience preferred.
  • Level 3 Forest school leader – or actively working towards this qualification (Desired) 
  • B.Ed. or subject related degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
