Overview Of The Role:
- The Financial Services Enterprise Architect defines and governs holistic application, business, data, integration, and cloud architectures for the Financial Services Line of Business. The role involves overseeing technology selection, conducting reviews of major initiatives, promoting best practices, and maintaining the target architecture in alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires a strategic vision to drive transformation and innovation within the enterprise architecture framework.
What You Will Do:
Enterprise Architecture Strategy
- Design the target Enterprise Architecture in the context of Business & IT strategy for Financial Services Transformation.
- Create Business Architecture/Capability Models and perform maturity assessments.
- Define solution approaches in response to demands and perform impact analysis.
Technology Selection and Governance
- Identify, assess, and recommend new products and technologies as part of RFIs/RFPs.
- Assess application portfolio for consolidation, retirement, and upgrades.
- Define application and technology standards to support strategic plans.
- Participate in Enterprise Architecture governance activities.
Innovation and Research
- Perform research on emerging technologies to address business capability gaps.
- Introduce new technologies/solutions and conduct Proof of Concepts/Proof of Technology.
- Lead scoping sessions and workshops with Business/IT stakeholders to align strategies.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Broad enterprise-wide view of business, appreciation for strategy, processes, and governance.
- Good understanding across architecture domains: Business, Data, Application, and Technology Architecture.
- Exceptional communication skills, including written and verbal communications and visualizations.
- Experience in carrying out architecture assessments and providing recommendations.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 15 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, including 5+ years within financial services, preferably in banking.
- Certification in at least one Enterprise Architecture Framework (e.g., TOGAF).
- Demonstrated experience with banking reference frameworks (e.g., BIAN), and familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Toolsets (preferably LeanIX).
