Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Contribute to the delivery of superior performance against strategic regional plan, upholding highest control environment standards, maintaining a zero tolerance policy towards regulatory risks.
- Provide independent opinion on client’s existing portfolio whilst ensuring consistency with House Views
- Determine client’s risk appetite, investment preference and return expectations by partnering with Relationship Managers
- Providing relevant solutions given client needs/objectives
- Work closely with the IA Head of DIFC, sharing ideas and supporting product and service launch aimed at GSAC / MENA Segment.
- Active participation in client planning for tagged accounts.
Business
- Utilise tools such as Portfolio Insight as both a risk management and marketing tool for clients.
- Drive investment penetration and growth in AuM and Revenue with key focus on clients directly advised by the investment advisor
- Contribute and drive investment engagement to promote Strategy Views and suitable products
- Organise / Participate in investment seminars for clients and prospects
- Provide high quality investment advice to clients directly & to RMs, and inform them about suitable investments in the context of their portfolios
- Work with IA Head DIFC to build, lead and tier up a team of world class Investment Advisors and in ensuring that the team works effectively with RMs, product partners & stakeholders
Processes
- Ensure adherence to the framework for effective management of operational risks across the Business and in compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations at a global level.
- Contribute to the delivery of Business strategy in a safe and well controlled manner and on an end to end basis.
- Contribute to the sales management and ensure suitability processes are applied appropriately.
- Actively participate in Investment Advisory Team meetings
- Usage of Client Advisory Portal (CAP) and reference to Suitability & Appropriateness procedures to ensure appropriate adherence to portfolio management guidelines
- Ensure Tableau reflects accurate & complete tagging of relevant relationships
- Collaborate effectively with the Wealth management team to deliver best product solutions to PvB clients.
- Provide product managers ideas for new products driven by client needs / objectives
- Review products for viability within client portfolios
- Support the continuous improvement of processes to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
People & Talent
- Actively participate in asset class forums from an advisory perspective in providing ideas
- Contribute in the development of and to embed a high performance culture with specific focus on RM capability, effectiveness and productivity.
- Contribute to coaching through effective engagement to deliver against the financial, non-financial and risk/control objectives.
Risk Management
- Adherence to “Treat Clients Fairly”
- Understand risk & control within area of responsibility and drive rectification as required.
- Ensure adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in compliance with Group and Business Policies, procedures, standards and codes including those governing al Risk types, Compliance, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation.
- Take ownership and accountability of performing the advisory role successfully
- Risk appetite is clear and integral to the strategy with appropriate controls
- Ensure that Risk Management matters that are brought to attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting to the relevant Risk Committees.
Governance
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Provide relevant input into the formulation and effective execution of rules, policies and procedures applicable to investment advisory.
- Engage where so ever with all audit report findings for the team and ensure feedback is acted upon.

- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. - Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
