Job Description
GEMS is looking for a versatile, creative, and dedicated copywriter who can produce clean, engaging, and entertaining written scripts for a wide variety of uses, including digital, social media, brochures, speeches, letters, etc., for one of the biggest private education groups in the world.
Native/fluent English is essential, and strong written and spoken Arabic is a benefit, but not essential (see list of skills required below). Your portfolio, passion, and ability to contribute seamlessly to a high-performing, award-winning team will be deciding factors in selection for this role.
Key Accountabilities:
- Write a wide variety of creative and other copy (see below) as requested by the Communications department head and other senior members of the Marketing and Sales/Enrollments teams.
- Contribute creative ideas for various PR, social media, and digital campaigns.
- Write social media captions for corporate channels.
- Provide best practice support and guidance to schools on copywriting.
- Draft and edit copy for brochures, factsheets, and other marketing collaterals.
- Write speech scripts for senior leadership and others as advised by department head.
- Draft and edit letters to staff, students, parents, corporate partners, etc. as requested by department head.
- Draft and edit web copy for schools and corporate platforms.
- Repurpose published feature stories, articles, and press releases for external media, social media, and websites.
- Carry out any other related tasks reasonably requested by the department head.
Skills
Experience & Qualifications:
- A degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or a related subject.
- 3-5 years of experience as a creative copywriter in English.
- Previous experience in fast-paced agency or similar production environment.
- A background in education would be beneficial but not essential.
