THE ACADEMY

GEMS World Academy-Dubai (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School for PreK to Grade 12 students. Established in 2008 as a member of GEMS Education, the Academy is authorised to deliver the PYP, MYP, DP and CP programmes, and is also accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Business to Secondary School students, ensuring engaging and effective delivery of the IB curriculum.
• Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge students, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support their academic development.
• Work closely with the Humanities department and pastoral team to ensure the well-being and academic success of all learners.
• Contract Type: Maternity Cover – Temporary Position up to 6months.

Qualifications:

• A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B. Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in a humanities subject
• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching a Middle Years Program Individuals & Societies course will be highly favourable, though experience teaching a humanities subject in an Upper High School / Secondary school will be considered
• The experience, personality and educational philosophy to continue to drive the education agenda at this flagship GEMS World school catering for students from over 100 countries
