JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for delivering the Banks Macro & Commo business in ME & Turkey. Will be responsible for FX, Rates and Commodities Sales across the MENAP institutional client base.  Work with the Macro & Commodities teams in expanding the franchise across digitisation, Interest rates, FX and FX solutions, Options and Commodities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Originate & Execute vanilla and structured Business for the bank for Macro and Commo business
  • All axes, new issues, news and research to be distributed in a timely, orderly manner. Critical focus on axes and ability to turn axes with speed
  • Make sure enquiries received and processed asap, tactfully uncover any patterns/cycles for trade enquiries 
  • Build up the FX solutions and digitisation franchise and build the Islamic digitisation 
  •  Develop our business in line with internal and External requirements
  • Awareness and understanding of the firm’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role

Business

  • Responsible for delivering team and individual budgets for Macro & Commo Sales. Will be responsible for FX, Rates and Commodities Sales across MENAP & Turkey institutional client base as a whole. Work with the Macro and Commodities teams in expanding the franchise across digitisation, Interest rates, FX and FX solutions, Options and Commodities

  • Adhere to compliance and processes, procedures governing the FM Sales role

  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the firm’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
  • Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the BBD FM Sales MENAPT to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.  
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders

  • External BBD Clients and other FIs as may be necessary
  • Trading structuring TCRM compliance legal Relationship managers 
  • Country / Product / Segment Heads of Wholesale Bank and Senior Management of support functions (TCRM, Compliance, Legal etc) – for advice, guidance and approvals; development of business and to enable smooth functioning of FM business
