Job Description

Due to the promotion of the current postholder, we are seeking a knowledgeable, passionate and creative leader of learning to join our Teaching and Learning team.  The successful candidate would become part of our Associate Senior Leadership Team.

Skills

 

Successful candidates will need to:

  • Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
  • Have proven experience of teaching Maths to A level.
  • Have the ability to share exemplary teaching practices.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
  • Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching
  • Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
  • Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events.

Skills

The Advanced Skills Teacher will play a significant role in:

  • performance management target setting and reviews
  • supporting colleagues to monitor the planning of each Key Stage/Department
  • reviewing and developing existing schemes of work’ with colleagues
  • supporting in monitoring of punctuality and attendance procedures
  • supporting the assessment and analysis for targeting underachievement
  • acting as a link with the school(s) in implementing strategies for promoting inclusion
  • providing workshops for students on key borderlines
  • providing targeted support for underperforming or more able pupils
  • designing and delivering professional development activities.
  • participating in the planning and delivery of focused in-service training days.
  • identifying CPD activities needed to support school processes for improving teaching and learning.
  • producing an environment which stimulates learning and enhances the appearance of the school.
  • providing exemplar lessons for NQT’s.
  • acting as a mentor to new teachers.
  • providing workshops for students on key borderlines.
  • providing targeted support for underperforming or more able pupils.
  • supporting or leading strategies for helping particular groups of students (e.g. boys, girls, Emiratis, G&T).
