Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional Biology Teacher to join our team at GEMS Wellington, Dubai Hills, from August 2027.

Our Science Department is a collaborative and high-performing team of 12, including three dedicated technicians, with teachers working predominantly within their subject specialisms. Students follow Oxford International AQA GCSE and A-Level courses across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, supported by strong practical provision and a focus on scientific knowledge, application and problem-solving. The department celebrates excellent examination outcomes, including 100% Grade 5–9 in GCSE Biology and 100% A*–B in A-Level Biology and Physics. Beyond the classroom, initiatives such as Science GEMS, competitions and collaborative events with sister schools provide exciting opportunities to inspire curiosity and enrich students’ learning.
Through our comprehensive professional learning programme, we ensure our teachers have access to quality development opportunities that not only help them develop as professionals but also contribute to our outstanding success. StepLab instructional coaching, Cognitive Science Network, Schools, Students and Teachers Network (SSAT), the Best Practice Network (BPN) and Evidence Based Education (EBE) are just some of the partners we work with to ensure our teachers are comprehensively developed.
Skills Description
- Hold a B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent qualification in Biology or a related subject
- Have at least two years’ experience teaching the National Curriculum for England
- Demonstrate exceptional subject knowledge
- Have experience working as part of a high-performing teaching team
- Have a proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching and learning
- Have experience teaching within a British curriculum school
