We are looking for an ‘Outstanding’ Physical Education Teacher to join our dynamic and ambitious team at GEMS Jumeirah Primary School, Dubai, for the academic year 2026-2027.  

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate, highly effective teacher to contribute to a school recognised for both inclusive and elite sports provision, supporting every child to thrive, whether they are just discovering sport or aiming for high-level performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive PE and swimming lessons across all Primary School year groups
  • Inspire all students to enjoy sport, improve skills, and develop lifelong healthy habits
  • Identify and support talented athletes, providing pathways to elite performance
  • Lead and support extra-curricular sports clubs, competitions and events
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external partners to maximise student potential
  • Integrate innovative approaches and technology to enhance learning and engagement

Skills

The successful candidate will have: 

  • BEd or Bachelor degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent 
  • Proven experience teaching primary PE, ideally in an international or inclusive setting
  • A record of outstanding teaching and learning
  • Passion for developing both inclusive participation and elite sports pathways
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and adaptability in and out of the classroom
  • Excellent IT and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Commitment to professional growth and contributing to a world-class school community

 Desirable

  • Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Highfield Lifesaving Certification (Level 2) or equivalent
