Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Teacher to join our secondary department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for IGCSE and A-Level English courses in line with the British curriculum.
  • Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to achieve academic success.
  • Set and mark assignments, coursework, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support student development.
  • Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing intervention strategies as needed.
  • Support students’ personal and academic growth through mentoring and guidance.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, resources, and extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in British education.

Skills

  • Innovative and creative approach to teaching literature and language.
  • Experience integrating technology and digital tools into lessons.
  • Passion for extracurricular activities such as debating, drama, or creative writing.
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level English within the British curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
