Primary Teacher – GEMS Al Barsha National School, Dubai
GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking an inspirational and dedicated Early Years Teachers to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team in August 2026. The Role
As an Early Years Teacher, you will plan and deliver exceptional lessons that meet the needs of all learners. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom culture, fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every student.
Beyond the classroom, you will actively contribute to the wider life of the school from co-curricular activities to community events helping our students develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress to ensure every child achieves their potential.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports effective learning.
- Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum, subject matter, and effective pedagogy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan units of work, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development.
- Communicate effectively with parents to provide regular updates on student progress and well-being.
- Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes, school events, and committees.
- Uphold the GEMS Education Core Values and school policies at all times.
- Promote cultural awareness, resilience, and a genuine love of learning in all students.
Skills
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (or equivalent teaching qualification).
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree and recognised teaching certification/licence.
- Strong understanding of the use of ICT in education to enhance learning and engagement.
Skills & Attributes
- A committed and skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations for student learning and behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A reflective practitioner who embraces continuous professional development.
- Flexible, positive, and able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a relevant subject area and age group.
- Previous experience teaching the National Curriculum for England is highly desirable.
- Experience within an international school setting is an advantage.
