Job Description

Due to the continued success of GEMS Metropole School Al Waha (MTW), we are looking to recruit a KS1 Science & EYFS Understanding the World Teacher (Farm & Bio Cube Lead) for January 2026. The role
As Farm & Bio Cube Lead, you will:

  • Deliver engaging KS1 Science and EYFS Understanding the World (including Communication and Language) lessons through our farm and bio cube

  • Plan, assess, and report in line with whole-school expectations

  • Oversee the care and development of the farm and bio cube, coordinating a team of gardeners and ensuring animals are well cared for

  • Drive sustainability initiatives across the school, leading the Green Flag programme with our student leadership team

  • Engage parents through workshops and open sessions in the farm and bio cube

  • Inspire students with your passion for sustainability, outdoor learning, and inquiry-led education

Skills

What we’re looking for

  • A qualified teacher with experience in EYFS and/or KS1

  • Strong subject knowledge in Science and early childhood development

  • Experience or enthusiasm for outdoor learning, sustainability, and animal care

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents, and colleagues

  • A creative educator who believes in the power of experiential learning
