Job Description

Job Purpose:

To support the effective use, management, and analysis of student assessment data across the school. The role involves maintaining data systems, ensuring data accuracy, generating reports, and supporting staff in the use of assessment information to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessment data using the school’s Students Information System.

  • Ensure data is entered correctly and in a timely manner following assessment windows.

  • Manage imports and exports of data to and from various systems, including exam boards and external platforms.

2. Assessment Support

  • Support the administration and processing of internal and external assessments, including baseline, formative, summative, and statutory assessments (e.g., SATs, MAP, CAT4).

  • Prepare and distribute assessment data collection templates to staff.

  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of assessment marksheets and tracking systems.

3. Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate and distribute regular assessment reports to staff, leadership teams, and external stakeholders.

  • Provide data analysis to help monitor student progress, attainment, and performance trends.

  • Create visual representations of data (charts, graphs) for presentations or reports.

4. Compliance and Confidentiality

  • Ensure all assessment data is managed in accordance with data protection policies and GDPR regulations.

  • Work collaboratively with examination officers to ensure consistency in data for performance tables and statutory returns.

5. Staff Support and Training

  • Support teaching staff with access to and understanding of assessment data.

  • Provide guidance or training to staff on the use of data tools and software.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting processes.

  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of assessment strategies through data insights.

Skills

Essential:

  • Experience working with data management systems.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Excel and data handling software.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
