​A career within Legal Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients adopt a more strategic approach to global entity governance across their organisations. We help our clients and their legal entities with the incorporation of new companies, ongoing compliance with local legislation, and restructuring of their global businesses to manage governance and compliance risks.

Our team specialises in providing legal advice across all of our clients disciplines. You’ll help provide legal support to a wide array of specialty areas from cyber security and technology to banking and intellectual property.

PwC NewLaw is a practice area within PwC Legal with a focus on legal department consulting, legal technology and managed legal services. The NewLaw team advises clients on legal department transformation, including strategy, vision and mission design, target operating model build and implementation, and people and resourcing. We also support clients with legal technology strategy, procurement, implementation and project management.

A career in our NewLaw team, within Legal Services, offers you the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team providing clients with comprehensive legal strategy and operations expertise, innovative technology solutions, and managed legal services. As a NewLaw Manager, you will be responsible for an iconic client portfolio and you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of your engagements.

You will be working as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive legal transformation experience. 

Your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting proactively in the management of a portfolio of clients, where you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of client communication and deliverables.

  • Being responsible for business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients, along with building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. 

  • Assisting in the management and delivery of large projects, ensuring key deadlines are met and stakeholder expectations are managed.

  • Working closely with the wider PwC Legal team on client service delivery, and collaborating with other Lines of Service in client project delivery.

  • Researching and developing marketing materials, including thought leadership that will drive our business development initiatives.

  • Delivering presentations to clients, including senior stakeholders.

  • Developing and training junior team members, particularly in relation to legal transformation and legal technology.

  • Managing a team of Senior Associates, Associates and Graduates, and working closely with senior stakeholders and the Head of NewLaw.

  • Advising on, and staying up to date with, the latest developments in legal function transformation and growth, and legal technology.​

Experience:

  • Experience of conducting current state assessments, including undertaking benchmarking and industry research.

  • Experience in creating client reports.

  • Experience of working either as part of a legal team in a corporate or government organisation, or within a law firm.

  • Experience of designing and optimising legal processes and policies relating to the provision of legal services, either within an organisation or a law firm.

  • Experiencing managing stakeholders of all levels, including senior management.

  • Strong knowledge base of technology and IT practices, including Generative AI.

  • Strong understanding and experience of the legal technology market, including contract lifecycle management, generative AI, document management, knowledge management, and request and matter management.

  • Foundational understanding of ERP environments (for example Oracle and SAP) would be a plus.

  • Foundational understanding of data analytics (for example PowerBI or Alteryx) would also be a plus.

As Manager in the NewLaw team, you will work alongside the Head of NewLaw, and manage Senior Associates and Associates on the team. You will also be expected to support and work closely with Graduates in the NewLaw team.
